Test Input Minimization -
Systematic Testing by Re-Using Partitioned Program Input
I transferred differential
debugging to input data - I tried to find the (near) minimum
failure-inducing subset of input data.
My prototype's results: Inputs of up to 1,000,000 bytes in size can be
automatically minimized to about 1-40 bytes without changing the nature of the
error.
I've already minimized failure-inducing input for the following programs:
- Solaris 2.6: flex, ul, units, col, nroff, troff, crtplot and
Netscape Navigator 4.7
- Linux: mozilla-m13, bc and gcc-2.95.2
You can try it out for yourself, just try the Eclipse plugins.

Failure-Inducing Input
Given some test case, a program fails. Which part of the test case is
responsible for the particular failure? We show how our test case
minimization algorithm generalizes and simplifies some failing input to a
minimal test case that produces the failure.

Some facts about you...

If you want me to produce a certain Postfix-related document/how-to: Drop me
a line -- I'll see what I can do.
Arschkrebs
What is Arschkrebs (buttcancer)?
You know this, don't you: You're at a party, and once the guests notice that
you're a doctor, they start talking about their illnesses and want your
diagnosis.
For free.
A friend of mine was so annoyed by this that his party-diagnosis is always
"Arschkrebs -- you should see a Doctor".
And never forget: I read it on the Internet, so it must be true!

Here I'll keep a list of people who already donated or sent me stuff
from my wishlist. Should I have forgotten
to list your name here, just drop me a line.
Sometimes, deliveries don't arrive.
If I don't say "Thank you!" (or send you
a postcard), then it's not because I'm rude or unthankful, but because the
delivery never made it here! So check with me and e.g. Amazon to see if the
delivery actually reached me.
