Einsatzbereich

Oft wird ja Mail an Leute doppelt verschickt, weil Sie z.B. auf eine Liste stehen (vorstand) und im Cc:.

Wie geht das?

Sicherstellen, daß nichts neues zur Mailbox hinzukommt (evtl. postfix stop)

rm -f ./msgid.cache
formail -D 65535 ./msgid.cache -s < mailbox > mailbox.new
mv mailbox.new mailbox

postfix start

Dabei ist mailbox natürlich der Name der Mailbox (oft mbox)

Das Kommando schreibt die Mailbox neu (dann stimmt die Struktur wieder) und entfernt doppelte Mails (doppelte Mails sind Mails mit identischer Message-Id).
