How to build a spamtrap with Postfix
What's the idea here?
Usually, spammer harvest webpages, newsgroups and mailinglists for
emailadresses. If Postfix receives a multi-recipient mail and one of
the recipients is to be discarded, then Postfix will discard the
entire message to ALL recipients.
- Add an unused, random email address on your webpage, your
email signature and on your news postings.
E.g. partmaps160302@yourdomain.com
- Configure your mailserver to DISCARD that emailaddress:
Add check_recipient_access hash:/etc/postfix/spamtrap in your
smtpd_recipient_restrictions.
/etc/postfix/spamtrap contains:
partmaps160302@yourdomain.com DISCARD
Then, please postmap /etc/postfix/spamtrap
